Selectmen's Meeting - October 3, 1994
Selectmen Attending: Judith Murdoch, Charles Flynn, Joseph
Frisoli, Chair; and Catherine Kuchinski, Clerk.
I. Opening: Chair Frisoli called meeting to order at 7:00pm at
the Selectmen's table in the Town Meeting Room held at the
Whitman Hanson Regional High School.
II. Review of Warrant articles on hold for Board's
recommendation: (1) article - #14: Motion 10/3/94.1: move to
recommend $20,000 from Free Cash to assist with Wagon Realty
Trust land acquisition. Motion made by Murdoch with second by
Kuchinski. Motion carried 4-0. (2) article 24 (fence): on hold
still - waiting for Joe Nugent to arrive from Capital Improvement
Committee Meeting with information for Selectmen. (3) Article 29:
no figure yet set by Water Department - Commissioners meeting
with CIC. Motion 10/3/94.2: move that the Board of Selectmen
refer this article on the Clark Property to Town Meeting for
further discussion. Motion made by Murdoch with second by Flynn.
Motion carried 4-0. (4) Article 30: Motion 10/3/94.3: move that
the Board of Selectmen refer this article to Town Meeting for
further discussion. Motion made by Murdoch with second by Flynn.
Motion carried 4-0.
III. Memorandum - Fire Department EMT-I: Firefighters Union #2713
president Wayne Carroll gave the Board for our review, the
memorandum signed by his Union listing the EMT-I agreement. The
agreement adds a stipend of $1,000 for EMT-I certified personnel
once the Town has obtained EMT-I certification. The agreement
meets the understanding on several points the Selectmen had heard
from Frisoli and Flynn which had occurred in negotiations. Motion
10/3/94.4: move to accept by signing the written agreement to
Section 14.1 of the Permanent Firefighters Union #2713's contract
with the Town of Hanson. Motion by Murdoch, second by Kuchinski.
Motion carried 4-0.
IV. Continuation of the Review of Warrant Articles: (5) Article
25: request $5,000 to fund EMT-I stipend once EMT-I status is
achieved. Motion 10/3/94.5: move to recommend article requesting
$5,000. Motion made by Murdoch with second by Flynn. Motion
carried 4-0. (6) Article 27: Motion 10/3/94.6: move to
recommend article 27. Motion made by Murdoch with second by
Flynn. Motion carried 4-0. (7) Returned to Article 24 - Nugent
supplied figure of $1,265 to be added to monies voted in May 94
meeting. Motion 10/3/94.7: move to recommend $1,265 for article
24. Motion by Murdoch with second by Flynn. Motion carried 4-0.
V. Adjournment. Motion 10/3/94.8: move to adjourn. Motion made
by Murdoch with second by Kuchinski. Motion carried 4-0.
