SPECIAL TOWN MEETING
April 6, 1996
Moderator Charles W. Mann called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m. in the auditorium of the Whitman-Hanson Regional High School with Robert Swanson, Karen Swanson and Jean Higgins appointed and sworn in as tellers.
Town Counsel was Everett Marder from Kopelman and Paige.
The Moderator declared a quorum to be present.
VOTED Aye, unanimously to waive the reading of the Warrant.
ARTICLE 1: To see if the Town will vote to approve the amount of the debt authorized by the Whitman Hanson Regional School District School Committee for adding to, reconstructing, remodeling and equipping Whitman Hanson Regional High School; provided that any debt so authorized by the District shall be contingent upon a Town vote to exempt the amounts required to pay such debt from the provisions of Proposition 2 1/2; or to take any other action in relation thereto.
Proposed by the Whitman-Hanson Regional District School Committee
VOTED Aye, unanimous to pass over.
ARTICLE 2: To see if the Town will vote to approve the amount of the debt authorized by the Whitman Hanson Regional School District School Committee for, reconstructing, remodeling, or making extraordinary repairs to the Indian Head School, provided that any debt so authorized by the District shall be contingent upon a Town vote to exempt the amounts required to pay such debt from the provisions of Proposition 2 1/2; or to take any other action in relation thereto.

Finance Committee recommends.
VOTED Aye, unanimous to approve the amount of the $5,000,000.00 debt authorized by the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District School Committee for adding to, reconstructing, remodeling and making extraordinary repairs to the Indian Head School; provided that no debt so authorized by the District shall be issued unless the Town has voted to exempt the amounts required to pay such debt from the provisions of Proposition 2 1/2.
ARTICLE 3: To see if the Town will vote to approve the amount of the debt authorized by the Whitman Hanson Regional School District School
Committee for, constructing and equipping a new middle school to be located on land presently owned by the Town of Hanson between Liberty Street and East Washington Street, provided that any debt so authorized by the District shall be contingent upon a Town vote to exempt the amounts required to pay such debt from the provisions of Proposition 2 1/2; or to take any other action in relation thereto.

VOTED Aye, voice to approve the amount of the $14,000,000.00 debt authorized by the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District Committee for constructing and equipping a new middle school to be located on land presently owned by the Town of Hanson between Liberty Street and East Washington Street; provided that no debt so authorized by the District shall be issued unless the Town has voted to exempt the amounts required to pay such debt from the provisions of Proposition 2 1/2.
