Special Town Meeting
May 1, 2000
Moderator Charles W. Mann called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Middle School with James Armstrong, Sandra Gowin and Robert Forte appointed and sworn in as tellers.
Town Counsel was Richard Bowen from Kopelman and Paige.
A quorum was declared present.
ARTICLE 1: To see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money from available Free Cash and/or transfer from additional lottery receipts and/or transfer from the 1999 Annual Town Meeting, Article 5, Line 93, S.S. Vo-Tech, to be added to the 1999 Annual Town Meeting Article 5, Line 97, Police Other Wages or take any other action in relation thereto.

Explanation: This amount is needed to get through the balance of this fiscal year.

Explanation: We have had an employee out for an extended period of time due to illness and it was necessary to hire a part-time person to cover the office. In addition, due to the number of additional staffing requests and vacation coverage, the overtime fund for this budget item has been depleted. This article is necessary to fund the line in order pay the clerical wages for the balance of the fiscal year.

Explanation: This is to fund the reimbursement for the firefighters who have completed the Paramedics course on their own and to purchase necessary equipment and medications to start the Paramedic services for the Town.

Explanation: Allows additional compensation of a Town Clerk or Municipal Collector or Treasurer upon certification. The additional compensation shall be an amount equal to 10% of such annual compensation, but not more than $1,000.00 per year.
