Hydrant Flushing

Starting on Monday, September 18, 2017 thru November; the Water Department will begin flushing hydrants.

The flushing hours will be Monday –Thursday 7:00 P.M. to 12:00A.M.

We will begin at the tank on High Street, continuing down Main Street, Reed Street, South Street and Pleasant Street.  The water department will give you advanced notice of all areas to be flushed in advance.

During flushing hours, you may experience discolored water.  If this should happen, drain off your water heater as soon as the water clears.   Also; please avoid doing laundry during these hours; as your water will be discolored.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  The flushing program is necessary to purge the water mains.
