Opportunity to Bid on Water Meters & Installation Project

Furnishing of Water Meters and Automated Meter Reading System, Contract 2018-001W

The Town of Hanson Water Department is soliciting proposals for furnishing of water meters and automated meter reading hardware, software, firmware, equipment and professional services including training and installation support.  Proposals for Furnishing of Water Meters and Automated Meter Reading System must be received no later than 10:30 a.m., prevailing time, on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the office of the Hanson Water Department, 1073 West Washington Street,  Hanson, MA.  Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the proposal price.

The scope of work includes furnishing  of approximately 3,443 Neptune water meters with absolute encoder registers and wired radio-frequency (RF) modules ranging in size from 5/8-inch through 3-inch.  All proposals for this project are subject to applicable laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30B, as amended.

Proposers are encouraged to attend the non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting to be conducted on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the office of the Hanson Water Department, 1073 West Washington Street, Hanson, MA.  Questions regarding the project or the specifications must be submitted in writing to GZA at 190 Old Derby Street, Hingham, MA 02043, or emailed to thomas.sexton@gza.com,  and to be given consideration, must be received by 5:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Contract Documents may obtained as a Portable Document Format (PDF) file free of charge at patricia.antezana@gza.com. Copies may be obtained for a nonrefundable printing fee of $20 by calling 781-278-4804 for each set.  Completed orders may be picked up at the offices of GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. Amesbury, MA, from 9  a.m. to 4 p.m. Copies may also be shipped to prospective Proposers for an additional nonrefundable $50 handling and mailing fee.  Requesters for the contract documents must include their contact name, business name, address, email address, and telephone number to assure that they will receive potential addenda, via email.  

Installation of Water Meters and Appurtenant Work, Contract 2018-002W

Sealed bids for Installation of Water Meters and Appurtenant Work, Contract 2018-002W, will be received at the Office of the Hanson Water Department, 1073 West Washington Street, Hanson , MA until 11:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, July 26, 2018.  Each Bid must be accompanied by a bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or, CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the bid price.

The scope of work includes installation of approximately 3,443 Neptune water meters with absolute encoder registers and wired radio-frequency (RF) modules ranging in size from 5/8-inch through 3-inch. The meters and RF modules shall be purchased by the Owner under a separate contract. Installation shall include removing the existing meters, registers, RF modules and wiring, and furnishing all incidentals required to complete installations.  All bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of Massachusetts, including, but not limited to G.L. c.30, §39M
