Water Use Restriction Reminder

The Hanson Water Department would like to remind customers that water restrictions remain in effect.

Outdoor water use is only allowed between the hours of 7am-9am and 5pm-7pm by hand held hose only.

Sprinklers are not allowed.

These restrictions are necessary to protect our water supply and to protect streamflow for aquatic life.

What else can you do to help?

Do not use your hose unless you absolutely have to.

Only wash your vehicles by means of a commercial car wash, except as necessary for operator safety;

Do not wash of exterior building surfaces, parking lots, driveways or sidewalks, except as necessary to apply paint, preservatives, stucco, pavement or cement.

Take shorter showers.

Only run full loads of laundry on the shortest wash possible.

Turn off the water when you are not using it.

Install low flow fixtures in your home

Enforcement

These restrictions are enabled by Article 3-15 of the Hanson Town Bylaws

(http://www.hanson-ma.gov/public_documents/hansonma_bylaws/article3-15)

Offenders will be issued a written warning; subsequent offenses will be subject to a fine of up to $100.
