Water Restriction 2026

The Water Department would like to inform residents that we are under a WATER RESTRICTION for outside watering from May 1, 2026 until September 30, 2026, per our Water Management Act.  Watering hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a hand-held hose only.  SPRINKLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED UNLESS YOU HAVE A PRIVATE WELL FOR IRRIGATION.

ALSO: Under no circumstances are irrigation systems allowed to be on the town's water system. (tapped off the resident's water line).  Irrigation systems are only allowed if the homeowner has a private well for irrigation. 

If you do have a private well for irrigation, the homeowner MUST contact the Water Department and pick up a well placard that can be displayed somewhere that is visible from the street.

ENFORCEMENT:  These restrictions are enabled by Article 3-15 of the Hanson By-Laws.  The Water Department will enforce these rules.
