Hanson Fire Department responds to Structure Fire at 1492 Main Street.

Hanson, MA (October 28, 2021) – At 20:54 hrs. on Thursday October 28, 2021 the Hanson Fire Department was dispatched by the Regional Old Colony Communications Center (ROCCC) for a report of a structure fire. The first arriving Hanson police officer along with an East Bridgewater police officer confirmed that all occupants had exited the building and updated responding units that there was an actual fire. The first arriving crew was able to knock down the visible fire on the exterior and then entered and performed a primary search and checked for extension. We were assisted at the scene by Whitman Fire.

Fire damage was extensive to the exterior side of the house with moderate smoke damage throughout the interior. Estimate on damage is approximately $100,000. There were no injuries. All crews cleared the scene at 22:57 hrs.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Hanson Fire Department. At this time the cause is undetermined, but appears accidental in nature.

During the incident, Hanson’s station was covered by Pembroke Fire. Hanson Police provided traffic control.
