FALL HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Hanson Water Department will begin the fall flushing program starting on October 10, 2023 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. weather permitting; and continuing for approximately 5 to 6 weeks.

Hydrant flushing is done to remove iron and manganese deposits that collect on the walls of the water mains; therefore; we urge customers to refrain from doing any laundry during the hours of flushing as the water can become discolored and potentially stain laundry.  Also; streets in the general vicinity of the flushing areas may experience discolored water even though we may not be directly on your street.

Flushing will begin on Holmes Street; heading towards County Road.  County Road flushing will be  between Holmes Street and Independence Avenue.  If you have any questions; please feel free to contact the Water Department office at 781-447-1200.
