HYDRANT FLUSHING

HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Hanson Water Department will continue with their hydrant flushing program on Monday, May 17, 2021 (weather permitting).  Flushing will begin at 9:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. continuing down Indian Head Street to Indian Trail and Indian Path which will also be flushed on Monday.   During the flushing operation, we again encourage residents in that area to refrain from doing any laundry to avoid potential staining of laundry.

We would also like to remind residents that other streets in the vicinity of the flushing could experience some discolored water even though we are not directly on your street.  The flushing of hydrants serves two important functions.  First, it minimizes the build up of mineral and other sediments in the water mains; and second; it allows the Water Department to verify the fire hydrants are working properly for fire protection.

We will keep the website updated during the week as to when and where the flushing will take place.  As always; appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.  If you have any questions or concerns; please contact the water department at 781-447-1200.

Thank you.
