FALL HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Hanson Water Department will begin the fall flushing program starting on October 10, 2023 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. weather permitting; and continuing for approximately 5 to 6 weeks.

Hydrant flushing is done to remove iron and manganese deposits that collect on the walls of the water mains; therefore, we urge customers to refrain from doing any laundry during the hours of flushing as the water can become discolored and could potentially stain laundry.  Also; please remember that streets in the general vicinity of the flushing areas may experience discolored water also even though we may not be directly on your street.

Flushing will begin on Holmes Street; heading towards County Road.  County Road flushing will be between Holmes Street and Independence Avenue.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Water Department at 781-447-1200.
