High Street Water Tank Rehabilitation Update

The Hanson Water Department would like to inform residents that the High Street Water Tank Project has commenced.  The Interconnection to Brockton Water was activated and tank was taken off line the morning of March 8, 2016.  The initiation of these activities resulted in an acute event of discolored water.  If you experience discoloration please run the cold water until it clears. 

We expect to remain on Brockton Water for approximately two months.  During this time we anticipate a stronger chlorine odor than Hanson residents are accustomed to.  The chlorine level is continually monitored and is well below the limits set by the Department of Environmental Protection.

Effective immediately there is a total ban on outside watering.  

Residents on the Abington/Rockland Water System will not be affected by this project.
